Northern Alberta
Institute Of Technology Canada
Welcome to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) - a large
Canadian publicly funded polytechnic / trade institution located in Alberta,
Canada. With over 40 years of experience in teaching and training, we are an
outstanding polytechnic institute committed to student success in a global
economy. NAIT is located in Edmonton – a city renowned as one of the most
prosperous cities in Canada. Currently, more than 600 international students
across the globe enjoy our high quality of education on our nine campuses.
The city of Edmonton is the capital of the province of Alberta, and is home to
approximately one million people. And, city is known as the City of Champions –
provides numerous opportunities for students to participate in festivals,
multicultural activities and sports. With four distinct seasons and plenty of
sunshine year round, Edmonton residents focus on outdoor fun. They are also
proud supporters of several professional sports teams, including the Edmonton
Oilers NHL hockey team. The city of Edmonton is located on the western Canadian
prairies, just east of the Rocky Mountains. It is only a few-hours drive to two
of the world known National Parks: Jasper and Banff National Parks. NAIT
students enjoy visiting Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper to try skiing,
snowboarding and hiking in Canada’s mountain playground.
NAIT’s Exciting Range of Programs
We offer an amazing array of programs leading to certificates (one year),
diplomas (two years) and degrees (four years) in a wide range of areas:
business, IT and Communications, engineering technologies, environmental
management, hospitality, health science and English as a Second Language (ESL).
Our class sizes are kept small so that students get personal attention from
instructors and can take full advantage of the hands-on approach to learning
that leads to success.

world-class training facility for the chefs of tomorrow. Labs feature
computerized workstations, programmable appliances and demonstration areas
fitted with cameras and overhead plasma screens.
A Friendly and Lively Campus
The city of Edmonton is a friendly, active, multicultural community, and the
NAIT campus reflects that same personality. International students are welcome
from all comers of the globe, fitting in and making new friends easily with
their Canadian colleagues. Their NAIT experience goes well beyond labs and
classrooms. Opportunities are endless for active involvement in special events,
social activities and intramural and intercollegiate sports. Student looking for
fun and fitness finds it in our 50-meter pool, ice arena, gymnasium,
well-equipped weight room and racquetball and squash courts. More serious

the NAIT Ooks. The Ooks have 13 teams in nice different sports. Off campus,
students enjoy many activities in Edmonton’s busy community centres and
beautiful river valley parks, such as biking, hiking and ice skating. And of
course, the Rocky Mountains are just a shot drive away, offering world-class
scenery and four seasons of active fun.

assist you with your academic, social and cultural experience to make it the
experience of a lifetime.
NIC (NAIT International Student Club) is an association created by
international students, for international students to make NAIT a positive
experience, and to integrate and harmonize their culture with Canadian society.
