Intensive English Language Program
Brock University Canada

 

The Intensive English Language Program at Brock University offers quality instruction in five skills: Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking and Grammar.

Our teachers have excellent training and much experience and our administrative staff is friendly and helpful.

We would like to help you develop your English skills and to give you a chance to learn more about Canada.

Since 1982, the Intensive English Language Program at Brock university has offered English courses to students from all over the world. Some students wish to improve their English skills in order to advance their studies in their own countries or for future employment. Others work to increase their language proficiency before applying for acceptance to North American universities. Students who meet academic requirements and who complete the final level of the IELP can be accepted at Brock University without submitting a TOEFL score.

Brock is a friendly university one hour from Toronto and 15 minutes from Niagara Falls in the city of St. Catharines.

Accommodations

Homestay Program: You will be living with a Canadian, English-speaking family. This will give you an opportunity to practice your English while learning about Canadian lifestyle and culture. Our families all live on a bus route to school. The homes are safe, secure, inspected and approved by the Orientation Coordinator. Your host family will include you in their family activities. Your family will help you to adjust to Canadian culture and customs. Details about your host family will be sent to you prior to your departure from your country. Our International Orientation Coordinator will be able to assist you whenever you have questions or if you just want to talk about your homestay.

We offer three 14-week courses throughout the year and one 5-week course in the summer. The beginning and ending dates are:

Spring 2008     April 28 - August 7, 2008
Summer 2008  July 7 - August 7, 2008
Fall 2008       September 2 - December 5, 2008
Winter 2009     January 5 - April 17
Spring 2009     May 4 - August 13, 2009
